Born in Paris,
François
d’Elbee has lived and worked in
Africa since 1968, first as a hunter and later as a photographer. He
has traveled in most of the central and southern parts of the
continent. Through his previous books, Carnets de Brousse,
The Bush
and Eye and Busanga, he draws attention to the Lower Zambezi and the
Kafue National Park. Now he turns his lens on the people and
wildlife of the South Luangwa National Park.
Born in Germany,
Vic Guhrs came to Africa at the age of twenty-two to fulfill
his boyhood dream of a life in wild places among wild animals.
He studied art in
Johannesburg and has lived in Zambia for over 25 years, where he has
conducted a successful painting career. He is the author of The
Trouble with Africa, which records his experiences of living in
remote bush camps in the Luangwa Valley. This lifestyle has enabled
him to observe his subjects at close quarters and to shed light on
our shared ancestry and the lost connection between wilderness and
man.
